The teaching profession is a very honorable profession. Many young aspirants or academicians are attracted towards this field as they have a passion for such a career. With the kind of respect given to teachers and the realistic working hours that this profession offers, these days, many students prefer to go for teaching as a career. However, teaching requires a lot of patience and also a proper understanding of the subject matter for the teacher to impart the knowledge in a thorough manner. Since teachers educate the children and the youth, they help in directly building a whole new generation. Therefore, it is vital that the teaching be wholesome.
The teachers have great responsibility on their shoulders. They should be able to impart proper education to their students. As a result this required a proper training. This calls for training in some of the most reputed teaching schools in the world. While selecting a teaching school, one should be careful since it will teach them and mould them to be teachers who will in turn teach the younger generations. Some of the important measures to be considered as the yardstick before getting into any of the teaching school are:
Accreditation Status – The primary factor that one should keep in mind while choosing any course or school is the accreditation status accrued to the institutions. This single yet important point can help one validate the course as any license or certificate tendered by the institution or the teaching school will have no value if they are not issued by an accredited institution.
Course Structure and Curriculum – Before one gets into a teaching school, they should check the structure of the course – the period, the gaps and the examination patterns. All of these should be kept in mind before opting for any particular teaching school.
Experience of the faculty – The faculty members who will actually mould future teachers should be seasoned and motivational enough to train their students. Their experience and expertise should be factors, which should be considered.
Course Fee –The fee structure is of paramount importance since many schools charge a very high fee for a standard course while many others charge a nominal fee. There are also financial aids for the economically weak students like scholarships, which help them get into many such teaching schools.
Facilities – Facilities of the teaching schools like library, modern technological usage, internet access and also factors like the student-instructor-ratio inside the classroom should be checked as such facilities play a key role in imparting proper training to the students.
Apart from all these, there are various other elements that you should also consider in your checklist. You must also try to check out the number of students currently enrolled in a school or student-to-instructor ratio. In addition to this also try to find the graduation rate. The school that has a decent graduation rate has the better reputation.
In order to tackle the challenges that a teacher has to encounter while imparting education to others, he or she has to be thoroughly trained and seasoned. A proper teaching school ensures that they groom their students to be experienced teachers of the future. So, one should be careful before enrolling into any teaching school.

How to Find a Good Vancouver Summer Program on Math
Frank Ho, Amanda Yang
Teachers at Ho Math and Chess Learning Centre, Vancouver, BC, Canada
www.mathandchess.com
We have been running an math specialty learning center in Vancouver for over 10 years and also both of our children went to all kinds of summer programs in Vancouver so we would like to share our own experience on how to find a good summer math camp or math program offered by learning centers in Vancouver. There are a few tale signs one can use to screen summer programs and these earlier warning signs can be used equally to evaluate summer programs offered in other cities as well.
To teach what one knows the best.
Check out if the math program offered is the learning center’s expertise. If an math learning center all the sudden starts to offer computer course without up-to-dated hardware or a computer room in place then you may wonder if the learning center is out to make a quick buck? Or if the learning center is teaching mainly math but start to offer Chinese chess or other courses in the summer and the director or owner has no interest in playing chess then you may start to wonder what is their teaching philosophy or intention to offer these “out-of-core” courses?
Check out the learning center’s teaching philosophy.
What is the learning center’s teaching philosophy of offering the summer math program? What kind of teaching method is being used? If the learning center cannot explain clearly to you but only copies other center’s ideas then this serves as a warning sign that you may have sent children to a wrong place.
The important deciding factor is don’t go to a place where the math and chess teaching is not their specialty if you want to have children to learn both math and chess in a fun way. Don’t go to a place to learn chess where the owner or director does not even know anything about chess or has nothing to say about its teaching philosophy.
Do diligently and carefully check out the facility offered. The worst is parents did not check out facility and send children to a place where no suitable facility is offered such as a separate computer room or a separate chess play room.
Ho Math and Chess offers unique and one-of-a-kind math and chess integrated and patented worksheets. We are the leader in math and chess integrated teaching and we are also the only place in Vancouver offering math and chess integrated teaching to raise children’s math marks, train their critical thinking skill and also boost their brainpower by playing chess. There must be a reason why Ho Math and Chess has over 30 locations worldwide, check it out at www.mathandchess.com.

Autism Teaching Tools Teaching autistic children reading through skills can be a daunting task. Some children might never read, but many better functioning children can learn to some extent and can end up being happy readers. Teaching autistic children to read has a very unique set of challenges that requires a parent or teacher to have a lot of patience. It can be like teaching children without autism but with the problems magnified. Sometimes they can be very cooperative, but for the most part, autistic children have huge problems with attention span, lack any type of motivations to learn to read, and they have problems with figuring out the rules of reading and grammar when compared to children who do not have autism. Learning to read should be fun for any child, but when it comes to autistic children, you have to reach them on their level, so make sure you chose a method that meets their needs. Autism Teaching Tools For some children sounds are important and using music as a tool to teach musically inclined autistic children to read is a very good move. There are some programs out there on the market that will use music and singing to help a child with autism learn many things. Some also employ the use of games. These interactive methods usually help with attention span and interest, two of the biggest obstacles in this endeavor. One important thing to remember when teaching an autistic child to read is that most reading requires creative thinking and this is something that many children with autism struggle with. This means that when learning, it is best to focus on materials that are based in reality. Stories about children like them going through their day might be a good place to start. Steer clear of stories that are full of fantasy people like princesses and talking animals. Don’t let your child suffer anymore! Lead your child out of his world through Autism Teaching Tools program now!

In an age appropriate way, children should be told about the reality of sexual abuse and the need for them to be alert to the presence of child molesters. When children are prepared beforehand with necessary information, they tend to rise to the occasion when challenged.
A child can be empowered to protect him or herself in the following ways:
Explain to your child the danger of sexual abuse and the need to call for help when he or she is threatened.
Certain parts of the body are private and should not be touched by others. Whenever a person touches you in such an area, report to your parents.
It is wrong to withhold information from your parents. There is no information that should be kept secret from your parents. When someone tells you not to tell your parents about any incident, let it be a reason for you to tell your parents about the matter.
When you feel uncomfortable in the company of an adult because he hugs, kisses or caresses you too often, keep away from that adult or older child. It is okay to say no to unwanted hugs.
When you feel at risk of being molested, you should call for help
Teach your child to value privacy and personal space.
Teach your child that it is wrong for someone to give him or her a gift and then ask for a favour thereafter.
Teach your child that respect does not mean blind obedience to adults and to authority. For example don’t tell children to “Always do everything the teacher or baby-sitter tells you to do”. It may inhibit them from reacting appropriately to a dangerous situation.
Teach your child what proper clothing is all about and what constitutes indecent exposure of private parts of the human body.
Tell your child not to chat with strangers on telephone or on the internet. They should not give out personal details, addresses or pictures to strangers. They should keep their parents in the know if an adult shows unusual interest in them.
